This year sees Soundwave’s swansong – after 10 years, one of the first festivals to kick-start the scene in Croatia is giving it’s ‘final wave’ and saying dovidenja. Line up includes Flow Theory, Origin One, Bloom and The Lowdown.
A long standing favourite of TNT, Bilbao BBK Live 2018 is looking good. Not only is it one of the best value festivals in Europe (3 day tix from €155, camping from €10), it has a stellar line-up and is in a great location with San Sebastian and Santander just down the road. Headliners include The Chemical Brothers, Florence + The Machine, My Bloody Valentine and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.
And I quote – “…a proper banging party” – another stonker set in a gorgeous setting, this festival is all about friendship, sunshine acid techno and Punk with a ton of pure hedonism thrown in for good measure. Be ready to dance your arse off…
With its extravagant stages, ‘Dreamville’ camp-city (this is no ordinary campsite) and some of the biggest names in EDM, Belgium’s Tomorrowland is huge…and extremely popular! Despite being over 2 weekends back to back, tickets for this festival are like gold dust. Line-up includes Axwell / Ingrosso, Carl Cox, Martin Garrix, Tiësto and David Guetta to name but a few…

If a bit of easy skanking is more your bag then Uprising is your festival with legends from the Reggae, Dub and Jungle worlds like Inner Circle, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry & Mad Professor, Julian Marley and Lady Leshurr.

Bringing some of the world’s top DJs to the beautiful Adriatic coast, Ultra Europe is competing with the big boys. This year’s headliners include David Guetta, Alesso and Steve Aoki – can’t make it? Fear not – Ultra has gone global, from the original UMF in Miami there are now 24 events around the world to choose from!
Another European behemoth, EXIT brings the likes of Martin Garrix, Ziggy Marley, Slaves, Asian Dub Foundation and Grace Jones all together in Serbia for one hell of a party AND it’s in a Serbian Fortress – doesn’t get much cooler than that! Top tip – don’t miss Grace Jones – she’s a proper legend and puts on a blinding show!
